About the Blog

Prehistory had its cave drawings, the ancients had their sculptors, the "Film Roll" stock illustration, used for free pursuant to the permissions on the image's licenseRenaissance had its painters, and we have our filmmakers. This blog is run by a cinephile, for cinephiles. It discusses everything, from current events in the industry to reviews and “best of” (or “worst of”) lists to critical theory to film history, and it encourages a dialogue over such topics. All opinions are my own, and my opinion is that cinema is as important an art form as classical music or literature, but it also moves us in ways like nothing else can. If you agree with me, then this is the blog for you (and, if you don’t, your viewpoint is welcome here as well).
